How to Become a Reviewer for m-JACS?

Reviewers are the cornerstone of scholarly integrity. For the mLAC Journal for Arts, Commerce and Sciences (m-JACS), we seek experts dedicated to advancing knowledge across our interdisciplinary scope. Before expressing your interest, please ensure you can commit the necessary time for a thorough and constructive review. By joining our review panel, you will:

What is the Peer Review Process at m-JACS?

m-JACS employs a Double-Blind Peer-Review system to ensure impartiality and fairness. Both the reviewer and the author remain anonymous throughout the process to prevent any potential bias. We request our reviewers to complete their evaluation within 21 days of receiving a manuscript.


Guidance for m-JACS Peer Reviewers

As a reviewer for m-JACS, you will evaluate submissions based on the journal's interdisciplinary scope, predefined criteria, and the article's quality, completeness, and scholarly accuracy. Your role is to provide detailed, constructive feedback and a clear recommendation to the editor.

Confidentiality is paramount. Any manuscript received for review is a confidential document. You must not share, discuss, or use the content for any purpose other than the peer review process.

Our Recommended Review Process:

  1. First Read: Read the article through to grasp its overall argument and contribution.

  2. Reflect: Take a break to consider the article from your own expert perspective.

  3. Evaluate Against Criteria: Re-read the article with the journal's standards and the questions below in mind.

  4. Compose Your Report: Provide a clear, courteous, and constructive report aimed at helping the author improve their work. Your comments should be objective and must not include personal remarks or your identity.

Key Questions for m-JACS Reviewers:

  • Significance: Does this article present an important contribution to its field within arts, commerce, or sciences?

  • Originality: Does it advance existing knowledge or provide a novel perspective?

  • Clarity: Is the central message clear, logical, and well-structured?

  • Methodology/Rigor: Is the approach (theoretical, analytical, experimental, qualitative, quantitative) sound and appropriate for the research question?

  • Ethics: Does the study adhere to relevant ethical standards? (e.g., for human/animal subjects, data use, authorship).

  • Analysis & Conclusions: Are the results/findings clearly presented? Are conclusions supported by the evidence and discussed in context of relevant literature?

  • References: Are the cited works current, relevant, and properly acknowledged?

  • Abstract & Presentation: Does the abstract accurately summarize the paper? Is the writing clear and professional?

Your Recommendation:
Please conclude with one of the following categories:

  • Accept without revision

  • Revision Required – Specify Major or Minor revisions. Please outline required changes clearly and indicate if you are willing to review the revised version.

  • Reject – Provide a clear, objective explanation for the decision, offering feedback that may assist the author in future work.

Ethical Vigilance: If you suspect plagiarism, data fabrication, unethical practices, or any other ethical concerns, you must confidentially inform the editor immediately with specific details. Please refer to the COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) Guidelines and our own m-JACS Publication Ethics Policy (available on our website) for further guidance.


m-JACS Reviewer Recognition Certificate

In appreciation of your vital service, m-JACS will award a formal Certificate of Reviewing Contribution to reviewers who complete a minimum of 5 high-quality reviews within a calendar year. This certificate acknowledges your dedicated effort in upholding academic excellence for our interdisciplinary community.
