ARK Identifier Policy

o ensure the long-term accessibility and citation stability of scholarly content, mLAC Journal for Arts, Commerce and Sciences (mJACS) assigns a unique ARK (Archival Resource Key) identifier to each published article and issue.

What is an ARK Identifier?

An ARK is a persistent identifier designed to provide reliable references to digital objects over time. Unlike traditional URLs, ARKs are maintained with a commitment to persistence and metadata transparency.

Policy Statement

  • Each article and issue published in mJACS is assigned a globally resolvable ARK identifier.

  • ARK identifiers resolve through N2T.net and are integrated with our journal’s custom handler for redirection.

  • Example Format: ark:/26340/mjacs.v3i1.123

  • All metadata associated with the ARK is maintained in accordance with best practices to ensure discoverability and longevity.

  • The ARK identifiers are openly visible on each article’s landing page and metadata.

Commitment

mJACS commits to:

  • Maintain active redirection for all ARKs through our server infrastructure.

  • Ensure metadata accuracy, including title, author(s), publication date, and DOI.

  • Provide continued access and resolve for each ARK in the event of journal migration or infrastructure changes.
