HEALTH DRINKS CONSUMPTION PATTERN OF DIABETES PEOPLE IN MADURAI DISTRICT

In the stone age period, people invented fire and used cooking of food with the help of fire. Before that period, they used raw vegetables, fruits, seeds and fleshes of animals. They used mud pot utensils for cooking. Due to civilization changes, they used stoves and aluminum utensils. After some period, gas stoves are invented induction stoves. Pressure cooker and some plastic metals (micro wave oven) are utilised by people. Apart from cooking food from home, they bought food from hotels, fast foods. Chinese food items are also preferred by the people. The changes in the food habits, cooking style and cooking utensils bring changes in health conditions of the people. Heavy protein, carbohydrates, tasty particles, colouring particles and aroma particles causes life struggle diseases. Among many diseases, Diabetes is the disease and around 60 per cent of the population in India are affected by the disease. Sweets, confectionary and carbohydrate rich vegetables are avoided for balancing the sugar level. Proper medicine, controlled diet and regular exercises are essential for the patients. Tiredness and hunger are the twin problems faced by the diabetic patients. Many food industries took steps to cover the diabetic people. The health drinks for diabetic people earned a turnover of Rs. 1.2 crores per year in India.
